The TETRAE research program, co-funded by INRAE and several French Regions, aims to stimulate partnership-based targeted research with a view to addressing the key issues related to agriculture, food supply and the environment facing each region. TETRAE conducts its research projects from a perspective of 'systems transition' in the face of territories’ contemporary challenges. The specificity of the new program lies in its addressing regional issues by placing the territorial dimension at the heart of future projects. Alongside this need for change, the desire to work in the framework of partnership and open-innovation arrangements is designed to accelerate these transition processes. The TETRAE program has a multi-level governance structure comprising a Scientific Council, Regional Steering Committees and an Interregional Office, which coordinates the work of the various national and regional facilitators.
